In May 2000 the Gosford Quarries Group purchased the Australian granite quarries and NSW primary production operations of Melocco (from the Boral group of companies).

Since then, the Gosford Quarries Group has taken over the black granite quarry operations of the well known Adelaide dimensional stone firm of W.H Martin & Company.

These separate operations have now been almalgamated and revitalised and will trade under the masthead 'Granites of Australia Pty Ltd', a wholly owned subsidiary of the Gosford Quarries Group.
The goal of this new company is to supply a wide range of Australian granite slabs in sawn, exfoliated and polished finishes at competitve wholesale prices.
